Dear CCPUC Members and Friends,
We hope you will be able to join the CCPUC for our 2023 Annual Meeting starting with an Opening Sunday Dinner Reception on the evening of May 7th through noon on Tuesday, May 9th at the Hilton (Santa Barbara), located at 633 Cabrillo Blvd., Santa Barbara.
ANNUAL MEETING DETAILS
There will be an Opening Sunday Dinner Reception for attendees and guests to enjoy on Sunday, May 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Dinner selections will be made available soon. Casual attire is appropriate for the entire conference. The conference includes a day and a half of panels on current regulatory issues of interest to our members. Approximately 9 hours of MCLE credit will be offered, including 1.5 hours on ethics and 1.5 hours on professional competency. The panels will include presentations and discussions on: (1) Affordability; (2) Resiliency; (3) Commission Rule 1 (Ethics); and (4) Mindfulness (Professional Competency). Further details regarding the conference agenda and speakers will be available soon.

Opening Sunday Dinner Reception. There will be an Opening Dinner Reception for attendees and guests at the Hilton on Sunday, May 7th from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The dinner is included in attendees’ conference fees. Guests are welcome for an additional charge as follows. Please email Shera Smith (shera.smith@yahoo.com) and cc: Verna Abbott (vernaabbott@dwt.com) with your guest's name. Menu selection is forthcoming.
Adult Guest Strolling Dinner Fee - $75 / pp
Child Guest Strolling Dinner Fee (age 7-12) - $30 / pp

CANCELLATION POLICY (includes substitution allowance to avoid fee - (contact Shera Smith before canceling to assign replacements)
If your schedule changes and prevents you from attending, you can still substitute the conference and room registration with one of your colleagues without a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees (without substitutes will be as follows):
Cancellation 7 days prior to event commences, Sun., May 7 (without substitution) - $100.00.

RESERVE YOUR ROOM EARLY, BY APRIL 1, TO GET THE CCPUC DISCOUNT RATE. IF YOU ARE HESITANT TO RESERVE DUE TO POSSIBLE SCHEDULE CHANGES, OUR CANCELLATION POLICY (above) ALLOWS COLLEAGUE SUBSTITUTION (without cancellation fee) up to 8 days before event.

Government/Non-Profit Rate Rooms (Reservation List Process - contact Shera Smith)
We have several rooms blocked at the Hilton for government/public interest attendees for a special rate. If you are interested in reserving a government/non-profit rate room, please email Shera Smith at shera.smith@yahoo.com to be added to the list. Please state 1) attendee name, any guest, 2) the check-in and check-out dates and 3) type of bed (King, Queens, etc.). These rooms are on a first come, first served basis. After reserving on the list, further instructions about holding the room with a credit card will be provided. A waiting list will be kept for possible cancellations and replacements if all rooms are taken.

The Conference of California Public Utility Counsel has been approved as a continuing legal education provider of Minimum Continuing Legal Education (“MCLE”) credit by the State Bar of California, so MCLE credit will be given for this event.
