Young Utility Lawyers (YUL)

YUL is a social and professional networking group for attorneys with less than 10 years of practice in public utility regulation. YUL is a Committee of the Conference of California Public Utility Counsel, but most YUL events are open to non-CCPUC members.

YUL organizes frequent happy hour events to foster discussion among a diverse set of practitioners, including attorneys from private practice, utilities, the CPUC, and public interest organizations. We are also planning several educational virtual events for 2023. YUL reports and makes recommendations to the CCPUC Board on issues and developments related to the interests of young utility lawyers. The Bylaws amendment approving the formation of the YUL Committee can be found under the About Us tab.

We’d love to hear from you!  Please contact us if you:

• Want to organize a happy hour event in Southern California
• Want to receive notice of YUL events even though you are not a member of the CCPUC
• Have thoughts on topics that are of particular interest to “young” utility lawyers, or
