January 29, 2020 MCLE Event - CPUC, San Francisco, CA

The Conference of California Public Utility Counsel (CCPUC) will be holding an MCLE program on January 29, 2020, from 4-5:00 p.m.:

"The New Regulatory Landscape After the Sunset of Public Utilities Code Section 710"

In 2013, California enacted Public Utilities Code section 710, which severely restricted the Commission’s authority to regulate broadband services. Section 710 impacted a wide range of Commission priorities, including consumer privacy protections and the LifeLine program. By its own terms, section 710 expired on December 31, 2020. This panel will discuss the Commission’s potential path forward in broadband regulation, including issues of federal preemption.

Please join us in what we expect will be a lively discussion with our distinguished panelists:

  • Vinhcent Le, Technology Equity Legal Counsel, The Greenlining Institute
  • Helen Mickiewicz, Assistant General Counsel, California Public Utilities Commission
  • [More speakers TBA]

MCLE credit will be available for those who attend in person.
